Cloud recorder vs the Chrome extension

The extension records in your browser; the cloud recorder drives a real Chrome on our servers for tricky flows.

Two recorders, one result

  • Chrome extension — records DOM events and network traffic in your own browser. Fast and convenient for straightforward sites.
  • Cloud recorder — a real Chrome running on Contexta's cloud, streamed to your screen. It handles SPA timing, OAuth logins and multi-domain captures the extension can struggle with, and captures extra detail (cookies, timings, full page analysis).

Both produce the same kind of journey you can load-test in Studio.
