# Installing the Contexta recorder extension The Contexta Performance Recorder is a Chrome extension that records a real user journey in your own browser and turns it into a JMeter script. ## Install 1. Open the Chrome Web Store and search **Contexta Performance Recorder** (or use the install link on the Site Check landing page). 2. Click **Add to Chrome**. 3. Return to Contexta — we detect the extension automatically. ## What it does It captures the requests your browser makes as you click through your site, correlates dynamic values (tokens, ids), and produces a script you can run under load — or open in Studio for full test plans and live monitoring. ## Privacy Your password never leaves your browser. The recorder captures what your browser sees during the journey, nothing else.
